Norty Turner is an accomplished chief executive and global business leader with over 28 years of experience driving operational transformation, strategic growth, and enterprise performance across the equipment rental and industrial services sectors. As President and CEO of Sunstate Equipment, he is leading a bold transformation of one of the nation’s most respected construction equipment rental providers.
Norty began his career at Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation, where he rose through the ranks Stateside before being tapped to lead operations across Europe and the Middle East. As CEO of Riwal, a Netherlands-based rental company, he spearheaded a strategic turnaround that resulted in a 176% increase in ROCE and a 656% improvement in EBIT. He later joined United Rentals as Senior Vice President of Services and Advanced Solutions, overseeing three North American business units and delivering strong financial improvements. Most recently, as CEO of RESA Power, he achieved 21% revenue growth and a 28% increase in EBITDA within his first year.
In addition to his executive leadership roles, Norty serves on the advisory boards of BX Partners, a fintech company, and Aria Designs, a furniture manufacturer. He is the co-founder of Mind The Gap, a nonprofit promoting mental health among teenagers and young adults, and has been a volunteer with Families Forward Charlotte, an organization focused on economic mobility. He previously served as Chairman of the Board for the International Powered Access Federation (IPAF).
Mr. Turner holds a Master of Science in Management from North Carolina State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of North Carolina.
